Aside from my work, volunteering, and recreational pursuit to write the perfect song, I’m also a Sounders/soccer fan, long distance runner, and photographer.

Sounders ’til I die!  Before the Sounders of the MLS there was the Sounders of the USL.  I’ve been a proud season ticket holder and member of the Emerald City Supporters (ECS) since 2009 along with my brother and sister.  I’m a devoted follower and fan of the game…as you’ll see from most of my Twitter posts.

I’ve never been a world class athlete, but that’s never stopped me from competing in local 5ks, 8ks, and relay races.  In 2007 and 2008 I competed in the Ragnar Relay Northwest Passage with fellow co-workers.  This is a grueling 187 mile, Blaine to Langley, relay race that occurs over a 24 hour period.  You get to have eleven friends along for the ride, but few moments can compare to running a moonlit bridge at 1:00 am after finishing a Red Robin burger.  For those of you not in the Seattle area Ragnar holds races all across the country.

After recently taking some time off, I’m hoping to accomplish the completion of my first marathon this summer.

I’m not a great photographer, though I have many friends who are, but I find peering through the lens of camera allows me to see the world in a very different way.  For someone who’s never been particularly good at most of the visual arts (that’s my sister’s area), photography allows me to express emotion visually while also satisfying the nerd in me of trying and learning new equipment and techniques.

You can check out my Flickr stream to see some of the photography work I’ve done in the past.
